Mario A Bianchet received his Ph.D. from The University of La Plata, Argentine, and performed Postdoctoral studies at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he is now an Assistant Professor of Neurology since 2011. He has published 70 papers in reputed journals. As a structural enzymologist and expert in ligand recognition, he has participated in several seminal structural and mechanistic studies of macromolecules and ligand/macromolecule interactions of biomedical interest. He has significant contributions to different fields, including bioenergetics: F1-ATPase, xenobiotic-response: NADPH: Quinone oxidoreductases, DNA-repair: Uracyl-Glycosylase/inhibitors, carbohydrate-recognition: animal lectins, and late-stage cell-wall biosynthesis: LD-transpeptidases and their complexes with substrates and carbapenems.

My research aims to understand essential relations between macromolecules’ structure and their mechanisms of action in biological processes involved in human diseases. With that goal, I am applying diverse techniques and methods including x-ray scattering and diffraction, as well as computer modeling and simulation to elucidate these relations that will have a direct impact on the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of human diseases

Dr. Nassiri is a former Associate Dean of Global Health at Michigan State University (MSU). He also served as MSU director of the Institute of International Health. He is currently a Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, a Professor of Family and Community Medicine, and, a lecturer in Global Health, Infectious Diseases, and Tropical Medicine. He currently works on international public health issues and has expertise in global health. He has made contributions in various fields of medical sciences including clinical investigation and health education. On the basis of his extensive experience and expertise in HIV/AIDS, TB, and antimicrobial resistance, he developed clinical research programs in Brazil, South Africa, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. He had served as an editorial board member for the journal of HIV and AIDS Review. He is currently an editorial board member for AIDS Patient Care and STDs. Prof. Nassiri has delivered seminar presentations on Tropical Medicine, HIV/AIDS, TB, Global Health, and public health interventions at numerous national and international conferences and workshops. He is internationally recognized for his work in the areas of building effective international partnerships, particularly in global health, community health, clinical care capacity building, and technical assistance mechanism. He is the founder of Michigan State University Osteopathic and Primary Health Clinic in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He has developed academic and research partnership programs with the Federal University of Para Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belem, Brazil.

Dr. A C MATIN is a Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Matin's laboratory studies improvement in prodrug cancer chemotherapy; genetic and protein engineering to improve biological processes, such as bioremediation; microbial biofilms; cellular resistance to antimicrobial agents; and microbial stress response. Recent progress in the laboratory is: The ChrR enzyme has been crystallized and new improved mutants were obtained by rational design. Magnetite genes were expressed in mammalian cells. PK/PD studies of CNOB/ChrR anticancer therapy were completed. A new paradigm was worked out of bacterial sensitivity to antibiotics. In collaboration with NASA (Moffett Field) a protocol was developed to test hypotheses for increased bacterial antibiotic resistance by microgravity during actual space flight on board a small satellite He is on the editorial board of five journals member and chair of several NIH review panels.

John J.S. Cadwell received his degree in pharmacology from the University of Miami in 1981. He spent additional time studying at the University of Nottingham and the National Institute of Medical Research at Mill Hill, outside of London. He served in various capacities in the biomedical research fields until 2000 when he was the founder of FiberCell Systems Inc. a company specializing in the research and supply of hollow fiber bioreactors. He has over 10 publications in the field and three patents relating to hollow fiber systems and is considered a world expert in the field.

Gerald C. Hsu received an honorable Ph.D. in mathematics and majored in engineering at MIT. He attended different universities over 17 years and studied seven academic disciplines. He has spent 20,000 hours in T2D research. First, he studied six metabolic diseases and food nutrition during 2010-2013, then conducted research during 2014-2018. His approach is “math-physics and quantitative medicine” based on mathematics, physics, engineering modeling, signal processing, computer science, big data analytics, statistics, machine learning, and AI. His main focus is on preventive medicine using prediction tools. He believes that the better the prediction, the more control you have.
